Geoff Marslett is a director, writer, producer, animator, and actor. His career started with the punk rock animated short Monkey vs. Robot before directing three narrative films, Quantum Cowboys, MARS, and Loves Her Gun, as well as producing and acting in the experimental feature documentary Yakona and the upcoming film, Before I Fade Away Into Nothing. He has appeared onscreen in films like Thou Wast Mild and Lovely and Tombstone Rashomon, and even had a TV guest starring role as the Unabomber.
He currently resides in Tucson, splitting his time between filmmaking and teaching. His work has played at over 100 festivals, including SXSW, Sundance, BFI London, and he was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Filmmakers to Watch in 2009.” He is launching his first-ever online writing platform on Substack later this year to share some of his anecdotal experience in this crazy biz.
Marslett grew up a cowboy with an interest in physics and art, and has a place in his heart for feral cats. He still loves making things.
